I Quit…..
ByThat’s right. I did.
That is what I told my boss recently as I have just had enough of working for, well, let’s face it, idiots!
The only idiot I am responsible to now is myself. (Wouldn’t get away with calling the wife an idiot!)
And because I still hadn’t put a video on my blog I decided to make a quick vid and stick it on here before I changed my mind.
I haven’t edited it or added anything, I just rolled the camera, blurted some stuff out and put it up here. Just to get me over that mental block I had about posting video of myself.
So here it is. Go easy on me!
Speak Soon!

Andy:
Only one word comes to mind – CONGRATS!
I believe you will make it. I have been following you and I like what you have done here.
Good Luck!

Thanks to all.
@Rick – Thanks for following me. As I keep saying if I can do it then believe me, anyone can.
@Anna – Lol, yeah. It all seems to have come at once. And you have to have the belief in what you
are doing or you will never give up that day job.
@Lisa – Thanks again Lisa. I’ve been putting off the video for so long then I realised that it doesn’t really
matter. Just get it done!
@Glyn – It was definitely a big decision mate but it just felt like the right one. Suppose that only time will tell!
@James- Thank you very much. Trying to be successful in IM plus hold down a day job and a family life is just SO difficult and I really hope that you make it as well. Just keep persevering.
@Davy/@Nick – Thanks guys. Here’s hoping!
Andy
Hay Andy.
Congrats on the baby.
And OMG!!! you are so brave quitting your job. I wish I could quit mine right now but alas it isn’t to be just yet.
Good luck for the future Andy.
All the best.
Gert.
Hi Gert,
Brave is certainly one word for it I suppose.
Guess I just came to a crossroads where I had to make a decision. The thing
is that for the many, many months where I thought about quitting my
stomach was in knots but as soon as I did it I felt much better and
still do.
The same decision has to be made by everybody who wants to be a full-time
IM’er. Its up to you to decide when that is.
And thanks for the congratulations.
Andy
Hey Andy
WOW what can I say…
CONGRATUALTIONS..

Mate in reply to your comment on my blog, my man im no way near quitting yet to many things going on
Its not my goal to leave my job asap, but ill know when the time is right..
Good luck Andy I know you will do well.

Marcus
Hello Andy,
Congratulations on your courageous move! I look forward to hearing how things are going for your as you take this big step. I look forward to the day when I too can quit and live life the way I have dreamed, to make my own decisions on my own time not following the agenda of the boss.
All the best to you!
Alice
Hey Andy
Congratulations on Letting Go of the bar over your head.
Does it sound familiar?
Thats how I felt when I left my job 18 months ago.
Slightly different circumstances,I make my money in other fields. But you can never rely on an income, from any source.
If its of any help,as time goes on and you apply more Time to IM you will wonder why you didnt do it earlier!
You have the one thing you need in any Business to succeed.
Belief.
Go do it my friend.
Ray
Now wheres that Marcus bloke?
Hi Andy!
I lost my job a year ago. Well I didn’t lose it-it’s still there. More accurately-my department was reorganized and I was not part of the reorganization.
It’s funny I read your post today because after a year, I stopped and visited some people at my old job.
It was really nice to see everybody. We laughed; we joked, blah-blah…
But I noticed there were some differences.
I lost weight, the people at work gained- a lot.
I’m much more relaxed (for a New Yorker anyway), and despite the jokes and laughs, my former colleagues showed signs of stress. Frankly, they did not look very healthy.
I’m just starting out in internet marketing too. It’s scary or better yet- exhilarating and terrifying at same time.
But after seeing the old crew, I wouldn’t trade this for the security of a paycheck and I’m happy to hear that you did what you had to do.
To your success,
Jules
Well done andy, your a brave man. I totally agree with the email ad swap thing, I have blogged about it myself and am now sticking to 3 swap emails per week only then will ramp down to 1 when I have another means of building a decent sized list in place.
I think its good to do some Ad Swapping to bring in new blood as people will always drop off no matter how good your content is, but the rate is see people in the skype channels swapping is ridicilous!
The way to go in my mind is to create a product of value with a free front end and get it promoted – that way you will get your large list and can email them without exposing them to swap emails, etc.
Thats what I am doing and wont even think about quitting my job until I have seen my monthly bills mortgage etc go down to tiny levels.
Take Care & Best Of Luck
Pete
Big step mate, that’s for sure!
I echo everyone’s comments on here. Good on you!
Some may say it’s more brash than brave, but nothing ensures total commitment like flying a plane without a parachute, and I’m sure you’ll do well!
Congratulations on the baby as well!
Regards,
Mark.
Hey Mark,
Brash/Brave/Stupid/Daring/Foolhardy etc. etc.
All words that can be used to describe my decision. But there is ALWAYS a time when you have to make that choice and if anyone thinks that it is easier to do when they are earning the same amount as they get in their wage then I’m sorry but that is naive.
By that time you will then be earning twice as much and most likely spending twice as much so the size of the decision does not alter.
And now I have no choice but to devote my time and efforts to this and at least I have given myself a chance if nothing else. Wonder if the wife agrees eh? lol
Andy
Hi Andy,
Checking out your blog for the first time after you leaving a comment on mine… What can i say!…
Some decision but, guess what, I know exactly how you feel, I did that exact same thing for a business opportunity offline some 15 years ago now…
I replaced my income within 3 months doing what i did then and i put that down to my commitment at the time so…
Providing your commitment is as strong as your words i just know you can do it.
All the best,
Robert
Hi Robert,
Thanks for visiting.
It really is all about commitment at the end of the day and I
will not stop until I have what I was aiming for all along.
And what is important in this industry is that you have a group
of folks whom you can rely on when you are feeling low. I have that
with some previous AJ students and would like to develop
that relationship within Dave Nicholson’s students.
Regards
Andy
How do Andy
Well done lad!
I also went self employed in January of this year and I now work from home and I am loving it.
If you need anything or just fancy a chat just give me a buzz.
Congrats on becoming a dad also
Eddy
Andy,
That takes a lot of guts to quit. I hope all has gone well for you. I will leave my job when I have the right amount of income and income streams flowing.
Best regards,
Cheryl
congrats. what a huge step. i hope to make that leap some day in the future.
good luck to you.
I still remember the day I left the corporate world, seems worlds away now…like another life. You’re in for a heck of an adventure, congrats for making it happen
